Trouble Shooting.

While most of the functionality of this program is controlled by standard Windows protocol, there are a couple of things that are outside this realm that may bring up unique situations based on the type of computer and TC device you are using. Below is a list of several of the more common issues that can result from trying to communicate with an external device. Please click on any of them for more information.

Communications with a direct RS-232 VTR connection:

Error occurs when selecting a port.

The port opens correctly but no time code appears.

I get time code, but the VTR won't respond.

The connection works most of the time.

Communications with a TC translation device:

Error occurs when selecting a port.

The port opens correctly but no time code appears.

Strange characters appear in the time code window.
